Free Flight – is it possible?

I can officially say that in December of 2023, my husband and I got our first free flight to NYX !!

Not as influencers but as regular people.

I’ve always heard people online say that they get free upgrades, free travels, etc.. But I never believed it because I never actually saw proof or met people who did it.

Now that I’ve done it, I’ll share with you exactly what I did.

It’s a lot simpler than we think.

PS : My next goal is to get a free Business class or first class.

The first thing we did it that we got an AMEX card to see if we could really have enough points to travel. There was bonus points when we signed in that made us so much closer to having the 70k points we needed to travel (2 two-way tickets for my husband and I).

Then, we already had an aeroplan account with really not that many points.

We noticed that if we use our amex when we do our groceries and go to restaurants, we would get 5x the points.

We spent intentionally (we really didn’t want to get more debt just for the free flight). We just chose to use this card as often as we could (for expenses that we usually do anyway).

I know what you are thinking : having more credit card will affect my credit score..

I personally have many credit cards and as long as you know how to manage them, you will be alright. (not financial advice 😉)

We simply converted our points from AMEX to Aeroplan points and VOILA !

We booked our flight and the next thing you know, we are in a plane to NYC.

Honestly, it was really that simple. Most people think it’s too much work and that’s why they end up paying the 1500$ it would have cost us to go to NYC.

I didn’t to talk about it until I actually do it.. And now I’m already planning my next trip – for free. (I’m thinking Las Vegas or something hehe.. and then – Paris 😍)
